LaBS: from research to industry; a new CFD software based on the lattice Boltzmann Method LaBS is a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tool based on the lattice Boltzmann method and optimized for high performance computing. It allows simulating weakly compressible flows around and inside highly complex geometries. Thanks to its high precision and remarkable performances, LaBS is currently deployed in the automotive and aeronautical industries for aerodynamics and aeroacoustics. The software suite was developed in the framework of a FUI8 research project, by a consortium of industrial companies and research institutes including CS SI, Renault and Airbus. LaBS continues to be developed in the framework of the research project CLIMB which is funded by the Fond National pour la Société Numérique. The main purpose of the project is to develop tools and HPC methods allowing multi-physics fluid simulations. By bringing together all the actors of the entire value chain, the project’s ambition is to develop and assemble the technological bricks of the following domains:
