The Digital Twin Factory, a collaborative workshop for easy construction and deployment of geospatial digital twins

The Digital Twin Factory project aims to develop a set of interoperable technological building blocks to facilitate and accelerate the creation of thematic digital twins. Considering a given problem (flooding, coastline erosion, subsidence, etc.) involving numerous coupled natural and anthropogenic phenomena, a decision-maker will be able, thanks to DTF, to instantiate a dedicated digital twin that integrates a faithful virtual reproduction of the object of interest (What-now?), a predictive capability of its future state (What-next?) and advanced scenario-building and impact analysis functionalities (What-if?).

The presentation will outline the collaborative context of the DTF project and its integration within other initiatives (national: Digital Twin of France and its territories, European: Destination Earth, and international: NASA ESDT), its architecture and initial developments.

Biography: Après une activité de consultant au bénéfice du CNES, d’Airbus et de TOTAL, Pierre-Marie Brunet intègre le CNES en 2011 au sein de l’équipe HPC dont il prend la responsabilité en 2014. Il rejoint en 2019 le département d’Observation de la Terre pour piloter le projet R&D AI4GEO constitué de 8 partenaires institutionnels et privés, visant à développer en 4 ans les briques technologiques pour construire des maquettes numériques 3D à partir de données spatiales. Aujourd’hui, Pierre-Marie est chef de projet R&T. A ce titre il dirige plusieurs études dans les domaines de l’IA, du QC et des jumeaux numériques pour lequel il vient de lancer un programme R&T de 3 ans, la « Digital Twin Factory ».
