The territory's digital twin: a simulation tool for public policies

The digital twin of France and its territories project aims to provide systemic analysis capabilities to support the definition and monitoring of public policies, particularly in terms of ecological transition. A genuine decision-making tool, it will be based on a dynamic virtual replica of the territory, enabling the latter to be apprehended in operation, notably through immersive navigation. Simulations will be used to project scenarios for specific use cases (coastline retreat in coastal areas, forest health, agriculture and water reserves, etc.). Last but not least, this territorial twin will benefit from strong synergies with ongoing local and global initiatives.

Biography: Dimitri Sarafinof a contribué à améliorer l’interopérabilité des données et services dans le domaine de la géographie, dans un cadre national, européen et international et ce au service des politiques publiques civiles et de défense. Il a ainsi piloté le département normalisation de l’IGN pendant plus de 10 ans, avant de prendre en 2024 le pilotage du programme Défense et la coordination du projet national du jumeau numérique de la France et de ses territoires.
