Workshop 6 - Wednesday, June 29
High Performance Integrated Computational Materials Engineering
Chaired by Gilles ZERAH, CEA
Materials simulation codes are amongst the highest CPU cycles hogs on HPC computers in France and in the world. The predictive capabilities of these simulations gave birth to the Integrated Computation Materials Engineering (ICME) paradigm. This approach, more specifically directed towards industrial applications, aims at developing integrated multiscale approaches for the research, development, integration and processing of materials in an industrial context. Since last Autumn, within the Supercomputers Program of the "Nouvelle France Industrielle", the French Government funded projects associating public and private entities in order to enhance the development of such capabilities at the national level. This workshop aimed to present recent advances of the use of high performance computing in this field.
