Tuesday June 22 - Technical workshop

Communicable diseases and vision disorders : evaluation, understanding, correction and control with the help of modeling and computing

Chaired by Philippe Gesnouin, Tech Transfer Associate for Life Science and Healthcare, Inria and Richard Bosmans, Director R&D External Partnerships & Funding, Essilor International

The societal, educational and economic impacts of visual health are such that they justify making new technical and clinical progress in the management of ophthalmic disorders. Whether it's personalizing the vision correction for spectacle wearers, modeling and predicting the effects of aging on visuospatial behavior, or improving the diagnosis of eye conditions using new imaging techniques, the three speakers of the first session have presented the challenges and computational approaches specific to these different applications concerning the visual system and, in doing so, hace illustrated very distinct but complementary facets of human vision.

The study of epidemic dynamics has been well emphasized in the context of the current SARS-Cov2 pandemic. Epidemic models or learning approaches have been implemented to measure the magnitude of the epidemic, predict its evolution or study the impact of control measures.

With the participation of:
