The Centre of Excellence for Performance Optimization and Productivity
→ PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The Centre of Excellence in Performance Optimization and Productivity (POP CoE) was launched in October 2015 with the fundamental objective of supporting a wide community of HPC application developers and users both in academia and industry. The project entered its third phase on January 1, 2024, for a duration of 3 years, continuing the work of the first two phases.This new phase is structured around three main pillars: services, user training, and co-design.
POP3 evaluates code performance, identifies sources of inefficiency, and proposes recommendations for improvement. It also offers expanded services including proof-of-concept studies, energy efficiency evaluations, and consultancy. While POP3 remains open to all users, it will focus on applications developed by other centres of excellence and running on EuroHPC's leading HPC platforms.
It will also continue to serve research centres, large industries, and SMEs for the efficient use of computing resources. POP3 designs tools and methodologies for application analysis, and shares best practices with other European projects and parallel application developers.
