Bull launched the BULL - JOSEPH FOURIER PRIZE to encourage the development of computer simulation in France, in association with GENCI and in partnership with La Tribune
Bull and GENCI (the French national High-Performance Computing organization) are keen to encourage the development of computer simulation in France, both in the areas of scientific research and industry. The newly-instigated prize also pays homage to the eminent French scientist Joseph Fourier, who held professorial chairs in Paris and Grenoble, and whose work made such a major contribution to the mathematical modeling of physical phenomena.
An initial prize of €15,000
The BULL - JOSEPH FOURIER PRIZE will be offering a cash award of €15,000, as well as other awards which will consist of dedicated machine time on supercomputers.
Who is eligible for the prize?
The prize will be awarded to an individual working in the field of computer simulation application parallelization in traditional or hybrid architectures, under the auspices of a French R&D laboratory, whether in the public or private sector.
How do you enter?
A selection committee will chose the most deserving candidates to go forward to the final judging process. This will be carried out by a Jury, who will evaluate the work of these applicants and award the 2009 BULL – JOSEPH FOURIER PRIZE. Both the selection committee and the Jury will be made up of independent experts from the worlds of research and industry, who are recognized for their very high levels of expertise.
