Cloud-based High-Performance Computing (HPC) has rapidly evolved, revolutionizing computational capabilities across domains. Scalability enables dynamic resource provisioning, while access to cutting-edge hardware accelerates tasks like simulations and machine learning. Specialized services and optimized software stacks simplify deployment. Advancements in networking mitigate latency concerns. Security measures address regulatory requirements. But challenges remain including cost management, performance optimization, data locality, and workflow orchestration. Despite these, cloud HPC redefines computational science, offering unprecedented scalability, flexibility, and accessibility, driving innovation across industries.
Are scientists, engineers, and life science researchers truly ready to embrace the Cloud as the long-awaited unified infrastructure they need? This workshop enabled participants to challenge assumptions and gain fresh insights into the tools shaping today's scientific and engineering landscape.
