MSC Software

MSC Software is one of the ten original software companies and a global leader in helping product manufacturers to advance their engineering methods with simulation software and services.

As a trusted partner, MSC Software helps companies improve quality, save time, and reduce costs associated with design and test of manufactured products. Academic institutions, researchers, and students employ MSC's technology to expand individual knowledge as well as expand the horizon of simulation.

MSC Software employs 1,400 professionals in 20 countries. For more information about MSC Software's products and services, please visit: www.mscsoftware.com

MSC Software is part of Hexagon (Nasdaq Stockholm: HEXA B; hexagon.com), a leading global provider of information technology solutions that drive productivity and quality across geospatial and industrial landscapes.

MSC Software & TERATEC

The acquisition of MSC Software by Hexagon represents a great opportunity for ambitious initiatives which are in line with our strategic objectives :

  • The Smart Factory which is a focus area for Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence.
  • Autonomous Vehicle (involving various Hexagon divisions such as Positioning Intelligence, Manufacturing Intelligence & Geospatial)

The role of MSC Software is to leverage the benefits of the simulation along the Digital Twin journey

  • Digital Thread within the Smart Factory & Smart Manufacturing
  • Digital learning sets generation @ lower cost than physical one
  • Data Analytics & Decision Scenarios generation

This makes intensive computing a priority number one in our revamped strategy leading us to an obvious partnership with TERATEC.

MSC Software & Project R&D

H2020 MANUELA: The goal of MANUELA is the development and realization of a metal Additive Manufacturing pilot line service covering the full AM development cycle including simulation, robust AM manufacturing and on-line process control, characterization, real-time feedback, post-treatment, AM qualification protocols and associated business model.

H2020 KRAKEN : The objective of the project is to develop an automated, robotic, machine for hybrid multi-material manufacturing, combining both subtractive and novel additive technologies. The objective is to develop a machine capable of producing functional parts up to 20m long, with high accuracy and quality. The parts will be made in aluminum, thermoset polymer or a combination of both materials

H2020 ENABLE S3 : This project is industry-driven and aspires to substitute today’s cost-intensive verification & validation efforts by more advanced and efficient methods to pave the way for the commercialization of highly automated cyber physical systems (ACPS). Pure simulation cannot cover physics in detail due to its limitations in modelling and computation. Real-world tests are too expensive, too time consuming and potentially dangerous. Thus, ENABLE-S3 aims at developing an innovative solution capable of combining both worlds in an optimized manner.
