Quantum computing : which applications will benefit ?

The last two years have seen a proliferation of announcements around quantum computers and around the various technologies that are currently explored. While many research and industry players are interested - and investing - in quantum computers, a key question is: what will quantum computing be used for, what applications? It is obvious that quantum computing, which is intrinsically parallel, will give access to computing capacities that are unimaginable with current supercomputers. But which applications will benefit?
This workshop will focus on presenting the current state of investigations on application domains that are likely to be revolutionized by quantum computing, such as: partial differential equations (PDE), combinatorial optimization, inversion of linear systems, materials science, chemistry, artificial intelligence...
