The arable sector range from plant variety breeding to transformations and uses including production and crop management is a major challenge for the national economy (3.5 million jobs and 70 billion CA).
Currently, the industry is facing with fundamental strategic challenges of response to a growing need for quality production associated with optimal management of natural resources and respect of strong environmental constraints. In this context, information technologies, particularly tools for modeling, simulation, decision support and processing techniques of large quantities of data coupled to capabilities provided by the HPC have become essential to meet these challenges. Through presentations, the purpose of this workshop is to present these points:
- Challenge and issues related to plant
- Tools and methods for simulation of plant growth and decision tools.
- Processing technologies for imagery data.
- Major applications: Seeds and food processing.
